Let’s start with the denim. Because denim will always and forever be a ‘thing’, it’s a staple that absolutely everyone needs. More so lately, the oversized denim jacket. Pretty sure I found the perfect one – a Ksubi distressed, oversized denim that’s one size bigger than I usually take and in the right shade of blue. Matches ideally with these One Teaspoon shorts – a summer denim fave. To inject some femininity and colour I teamed with a Maurie & Eve pink satin top from Glue Store with dropped sleeves (the spaghetti straps are mostly on show with the sleeves tucked under the Jacket) that happen to flow perfectly with these flirty Wittner pink satin tie-front mules with a pale gold heel. And to top it off, some bomb Quay mirror shades and Colette Hayman metal choker, both in the shade of my favourite drink – rosé.
The idea behind this first look is that as I progress through the warmer seasons, I can mix and match each piece to create totally different looks with existing pieces in my wardrobe. Some pieces might embrace the current trends only, they can still be woven into other styles as seasons pass. The trick is to stick with colours and non-print items that aren’t too distinctively attached to a particular trend. While it’s fun to invest in some fad items, it’s also good to keep its longevity in mind.
Hope you guys like the first look, and I can’t wait to show you the rest! All these items are available at Westfield – in store or online at westfield.com.au. And if you do grab a thing or two, join the conversation and #JoinTheFontLine!
