We were lucky enough to be invited to one of the hottest events of the fashion calendar – Kookai’s AW15 runway show, held at the iconic Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne’s Carlton Gardens.
The who’s who of the fashion capital came together to celebrate the new collection hitting stores in the next few weeks. Let’s just say, if you love winter layering, leather, animal print, classic winter coats and all-black everything, this is the range for you!
Come behind the velvet ropes to see exactly what went on and get a sneak peek of what you’ll be wearing this season.
Kookai co-founders Danielle Vagner and Robert Cromb were front and centre at the AW15 runway.
Set in the gorgeous Royal Exhibition Building, the event took over the venue, with models appearing from overhead as well as on the maze-like runway below.
Model Elyse Knowles arrives on the red carpet.
Head-to-toe black was a key trend for the collection, with leather pants and motorcycle jackets embellished with gold hand and body chains.
Twin sets are still going strong!
Add edge to Kookai’s graphic-printed version with ankle boots and a leather jacket, or opt for over-the-knee boots and a cocoon coat for a sophisticated take on the trend.
Blogger Rozalia Russian and her entrepreneur husband Nick sit front row.
Former Miss Universe Laura Dundovic embraced Kookai’s figure-hugging shape in a sweet musk shade.
Leather, funnel-necks and slouchy over-the-knee boots were three of the strongest trends of the night. Wear them together for a look that’s chic, sexy and very ’60s-inspired.
The Kookai models show us how to pose in their dreamy dove grey winter coats.
This key print in the collection is available in a top, pencil skirt or midi dress. We love this one for a night out!
Big Brother 2014 housemate Aisha Jade and Cosmopolitan Magazine fashion editor Nicole Lucas rock winter neutrals.
Backstage, we found one of our favourite prints from the AW15 range – a modern take on animal print in black, winter white and electric blue.
Is there anything better than blush leather? We are seriously obsessed with this to-die-for jacket!
