Then, each season you can update your look with trend pieces – they’re a great way to show your personality and instantly lift your look to snap-worthy! These items are more affordable because they won’t last in your wardrobe as long. They’re also more fun, so they’re the perfect excuse to experiment with a new colour or shape.
So we’ve been approached by a street style photographer. Now what?
First and foremost, it’s about being relaxed! Unfortunately, people are so critical of themselves that sometimes they forget being happy and confident will result in a winning picture, no matter your shape or size.
One of my go-to poses for people I shoot on the street is three-quarter. This is where you turn your body halfway between front-on and profile – it seems to be much more slimming while still showing off the outfit.
I also have a few go-to leg poses. Try putting your weight on your front leg (the one closest to the camera) and bending your back knee, lifting your foot slightly off the ground. Or try the opposite, by putting your weight on the back leg, bending your front knee and lifting your front foot. Try them both in front of a friend or a mirror so you can see which works best for your body type.
What looks will you be looking for on the streets this spring/summer?
This season, I’ll be looking for a little bit of everything. Sports luxe is still quite a big trend, as well as pop print, relaxed tailoring and even metallics. I’ll also be very happy if I see more guys in fashion suiting – think bright blues, greys and checks, all complete with pocket squares for perfect detailing.
