With so many great hat styles around, elevating an outfit has never been easier. But if you’re not used to wearing hats, take some time to trial a few different styles to find one that suits you – and don’t forget to try it on!
TIPS FOR CHOOSING A HAT
- If you’re on the petite side, don’t go for hat with a really large brim. Taller people or those with a larger face can carry this style off a little better.
- Consider the colour of the hat to make sure it compliments your skin tone, as it’s worn so close to your face.
- Think about how you like to wear your hair. Will the hat work when you wear your hair out, or will it sit better when your hair’s in a low pony?
- If you are wearing the hat for an occasion like the races, or just for a weekend stroll at the markets, make sure the weight, fabric and details are appropriate. For a more formal event in winter, opt for a heavier fabric like felt in a dark shade.
