As we age, so too must our beauty regimen. The makeup we choose to wear in our twenties is vastly different to the makeup we should be wearing in our fifties – and we’re not just talking about that electric blue eyeliner! Our skin slowly changes as we age; suddenly it’s a little drier, we’re noticing fine lines and wrinkles, and the products we once wore just aren’t cutting it. It’s not just a physical change either. Our tastes mature too, so suddenly we can’t pull off a bright red lip like we used to and would much prefer a subtle rosy gloss.
So what are the best makeup buys for every age group, according to the experts? We caught up with a few of our favourite brands to find out.
“Makeup in your twenties is all about mastering a series of fail-proof looks; work-appropriate glamour, weekend chic and of course straight-from-the-runway trends that celebrate your youth,” says Napoleon Perdis. Priceline adds that there are three key points twenty-somethings should keep in mind: use makeup to enhance your look rather than cover up, don’t be afraid of bright colours and have fun experimenting with new looks and the latest trends.
