Holly Titheridge’s favourite festive party looks

December is here and it’s the perfect excuse to glam up for the many festive functions that fill our diaries at this time of year. To help provide a little outfit inspo, I’ve put together looks for three occasions: end of year functions, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

Look 1: End of year functions

Short and sheer, with subtle sexiness – it’s the end of the year and time to let your hair down! I love mixing textures when working with an all-black look and a leather mini lends itself perfectly to a fun sheer top. Pair with some classic high heels and a fashion forward bag and you have yourself a standout look for a fun night out!

Look 2: Christmas Day attire

Fashion and comfort combine, because realistically, no outfit will get in the way of my Christmas feast. I’m opting for a stylish stretchy knit number that I’ll be comfortable in all day long! A small heel and classic bag to complement and you have yourself the perfect Christmas Day look!

Look 3: New Year’s Eve party attire

Anything silky, sparkly or shiny is where it is at for your NYE attire! A luxe silky dress will capture the light perfectly as you boogie into the early hours of the morning. I love this Charcoal dress with an open back – all it needs is a statement pair of earrings and stand out heels to match!

How to nail the right look at a Christmas party

You first need to understand the dress code, depending on what sort of function it is. Whether it is a daytime festivity or a night-time one really determines how ‘glam’ you go. Daytime attire would see me wearing a slightly longer length hemline and slightly smaller heels, whereas for night-time festivities, mini length options and higher heels might make an appearance. I’m a very understated kind of gal, so to get me into the festive spirit, I might add a bold red lip or a fun Santa hat – let’s still keep it fashionable here people!

I’m all about the textures – whether it be lightweight knitted dresses, a fun silky or sequin mini, or leather and sheer details, have fun playing with textures to add an edgy element to your look!

Necessities when planning a look for a special occasion

NYE is a time when more is more! Gravitate to the most sparkly and shiny attire you can find, including your makeup! Statement heels. Statement earrings. Statement dresses. Statement make-up. Just make a statement with whatever you choose to wear! My ideal outfit is a cute textured mini dress in either silk or sequins, a high heel that stands out (yet is still wearable, as I want to be able to dance well past 12am), and a bold lip with shimmery eyeshadow!
