Keep the kids busy with these school holiday activities

Not sure what to do with the kids these school holidays? Westfield Chermside has plenty of tricks up its sleeves to keep kids happy and parents relaxed.

Head to the movies

Event Cinemas is bringing it’s A-Game these school holidays, with a variety of movies the whole family will love. See Jurassic World on the big screen in V-Max, or see the story of your favourite superheros continue with The Incredibles 2. Event Cinemas Chersmide has also introduced a Junior cinema for kids under 5, with modified sound and lighting, and a ten-minute intermission.

Enjoy dinner at the Level 2 kids play area

Have you seen Westfield Chermside’s outdoor dining precinct on Level 2? Along with a lineup of impressive Brisbane restaurants like Casa Cibo, Kamikaze Teppanyaki and BiN 931, and relaxed dining like Betty’s Burgers, 4Fingers and Zeus, this outdoor foodie haven is centred around a gorgeous kids play area. With plenty of grass to run around on and an interactive playground, your kids can let loose while you sit back.

How about a round of bowling?

The newest addition to Westfield Chermside’s entertainment options, is Kingpin. And not just any Kingpin. This bowling alley features 14 bowling lanes, laser tag, cryptology escape rooms, table tennis, karaoke rooms and a fully licensed bar and bistro. Watch the kids have the time of their lives while you relax with a glass of wine and some share plates with the other parents.

Kill time in the Playtime arcade

Also part of Kingpin Chermside, is the new Playtime Arcade. With over 100 games, including favourites like Daytona, Mega Stacker and Maxi-Claw, Mum and Dad might enjoy this one as much as the kids. If you’ve had a lucky streak, you can redeem your tickets for platinum prizes and gadgets. This isn’t your average arcade.

Grab a sweet treat

If a round of bowling or an hour in the arcade is leaving everyone in need of a sugar hit, Westfield Chermside has plenty of options. Grab a scoop of gelato at Gelatissimo, or a sundae at Savour, a cupcake at Cupcake Patisserie or a bubble tea at Chatime. If you’re after something healthier for the kids, you’ll find delicious healthy snacks at places like Coco Bliss, Acai Brothers and Naked Foods.
