Spring into healthy eats at Westfield Chermside

These Westfield Chermside eateries prove that fast food doesn’t have to be heavy on the calories to be big on taste.

Acai Brothers

Acai Brothers is a simply fantastic Australian superfood bar. Located in the Level 1 Foodcourt, just near Woolies, its menu is brimming with fresh, healthy options to fuel your body for whatever your day has in store. Their Acai Bowls and Specialty Bowls come with your choice of three fruits and are so filling, they’ll keep you going for hours. You can even add extras like goji berries, protein and raw treats. They also have a great selection of smoothies and fresh juices using seasonal fruits and veggies. And if you can’t get by without a hit of caffeine, they do awesome coffees, too.

NYC Bagel Deli

No one does bagels like the New Yorkers. The little round circles of goodness at NYC Bagel Deli are just the perfect mix of soft on the inside and chewy on the outside. With fresh, seasonal produce sourced locally, every bagel is made to order. Now, they do have a few naughty options on the menu (the ‘Elvis the King’ bagel comes to mind), but there are plenty of healthy choices that celebrate everything that’s great about Spring. Try the Mediterranean with feta, capsicum, tomato, olive tapenade, avocado and rocket – delicious!

Zeus Street Greek

In the Outdoor Dining Precinct on Level 2, you’ll find a little place that serves the yummiest Greek food EVER. Zeus Street Greek blends traditional street food with fresh, seasonal Australian ingredients, and the result is pure genius. You simply must try the Lamb Souvla that comes with tzatziki and lemon, their Aegean slaw that’s bursting with finely sliced veggies and herbs, and their Seasonal Green Bean Salad. Full of flavour, delicious and good for you – what a perfect combination.

Guzman Y Gomez

Next up, this Mexican favourite has the market cornered for fabulous Spring salads. All freshly made in the Guzman Y Gomez store, you can create your own version full of seasonal salad ingredients. Onto a bed of mixed greens goes a fresh-chopped salsa, cucumber, corn and a special-recipe vinaigrette. To this, you add your choice of marinated grilled chicken, pulled pork, grilled steak, slow-cooked beef or pan-seared barramundi. Or if vegetarian is more your thing, swap the meat options for sautéed seasonal veggies and yummy guacamole.
