What happens when you combine a chef and a nutritionist at a market stall? A bloody good bagel. Over the past two years, Ania Kutek and Eddy Tice have been bringing fresh bagels with all the trimmings to the Brisbane lunch scene, and we’re truly grateful for it.
What started as a market venture in Annerley is quickly turning into a bagel empire, with NYC Bagel Deli recently opening its third permanent café/bagel haven. When you taste one of their bagels, it’s easy to see why. Baked fresh, toasted on-site and stuffed with fresh combinations of gourmet ingredients, Ania and Eddy have revived a brunch favourite back to its former glory.
At each of NYC Bagel Deli’s cafes, one in West End, one in Robina and one at Westfield Chermside, their beloved market menu has been expanded to cater to every palette. With a list of minimalist toppings like cream cheese and plum jam shmear, classic toppings like the reuben and vegetarian toppings like their Mediterranean veggie bagel, you’ve got plenty of choice.
While you enjoy your delicious bagel brekky or lunch, each of NYC Bagel Deli’s new locations serves up local, specialty roasted Cleanskin coffee. At Westfield Chermside, NYC’s talented baristas brew Cleanskin’s signature ‘Saint’ blend to perfection. A smooth, velvety body with hints of rich butter and a sweet, dark chocolate after taste is what you’ll taste with this bold blend.
As for us? We can’t wait to get our hands on one of those coffees to compliment the ‘sweet tooth’ bagel. This fantastic bagel creation features cream cheese, espresso butter, poached pear and berry compote. We suggest getting down there ASAP to try it.
If you’re after something picture-perfect for your next Insta pic, you can’t go past the feta & avo rose. For this Brisbane lunch, a bright green avocado is carved into the most delicate rose sitting on a bed of crumbed feta, dukkah and fresh lime juice.
