Less black, more brights: nail winter's colour-blocking trend
There's something very comforting about wearing black in winter. It's easy, forgiving and screams cold weather - not to mention it makes us feel those effortlessly cool model-off-duty vibes when we wear it head-to-toe! For most people, it's ingrained in us to whip out the black coats, boots and jumpers as soon as the temperature drops, but why do we ditch our brightly-coloured wardrobe items when they can be just as warm and stylish?
Colour-blocking is a huge trend for winter '18, but it doesn't have to be as scary as you think. Here are three tips for wearing the colour-blocking trend, if this whole "colour" thing is new to you too. They all star our favourite woollen fabrics for extra warmth.
Mix your textures
A simple yet effective way to nail colour-blocking is to pick two complementing colours and contrast the fabrics, like this hot pink and orange combo that mixes knits with silks.

Stick to one colour palette
The best way to ease into colour blocking is by choosing one colour or colour palette and running with it - or mixing and matching different shades of the same tone. You can always step it up a notch by adding a contrasting accessory.

Tone it down with denim
Your favourite denim and tee is the perfect foundation to experiment with colour-blocking. Start with that base, then add a coloured boot or coat to make it pop.
