New season wardrobe updates for your little ones

As the new season clicks into gear, kids' wardrobes will likely be in need of a mini update to accommodate the temperature drop. Rather than merely adding 'buy kids warm clothes' to your to-do list, have some fun with this, and get them involved in creating cute outfits for all sorts of occasions. Here are a few outfit thoughtstarters to help get their autumn style sorted.

Trendsetter

A new season calls for new styles and trends, like matching hair accessories or headwear and trims of sheepskin (even if it's faux). The below outfits are perfect for the transition into those colder days- a light dress can still be suitable for autumn days when paired with an adorable mini trench. While the days may be getting shorter and slightly darker, steering clear of moody colours will make for an uplifting start to the season.

Knit kit

Soon enough you will start to find yourself rummaging through drawers (or under beds) for jumpers to keep them warm on chilly evenings. It isn’t winter yet, though, so opt for lightweight knits and layer up with a jacket when the cold truly sets in. When it comes to knitted jumpers don’t be afraid to buy a size bigger if you think that they can get another season out of the piece- knits don’t have to fit perfectly to look good.

Little leather looks

Kid’s are guaranteed to have fun with this rock style and make it their own. There are plenty of leather jackets arriving in stores, so finding the right style is a cinch. Let them choose a graphic tee to go underneath and then finish off the look with a pair of jeans - look for acid or dark washed and zip detailing.

Playdate

In transitional seasons, shorts and a top are still comfrotable, especially if kids are running around all day at preschool or on a social playdate. Just keep a pair of enclosed shoes and a jumper on hand in case the weather turns unexpectedly.
