The Infants' Home
The Infants' Home has been our nominated official charity parnter since 2015. The partnership aims at assisting the charity to achieve their goals through a wide variety of projects thaqt include GiveAbility Day.
Over the last four years, GiveAbility Day has enabled Westfield centres to raise awareness and contribute over $1.4m in funds, providing much needed therapy programs, respite services and specialised equipment for local families of children living with disabilities.
What The Infants' Home Does
The Infants’ Home (TIH) provides early childhood education and care, early intervention and health services for children aged from birth to early school years throughout Sydney’s suburbs, focusing on the Inner West. One third of their services are targeted to children who have additional needs and/or who are living in vulnerable or disadvantaged circumstances including physical disability, neglect, impact of drug affected parenting, domestic violence or relationship and mental health challenges. Each year we provide services for over 2300 children and their families, 600 of whom are children at risk.
Their mission is to give each child every opportunity to fulfil their unique potential, no matter what their background or circumstances.
The Infants’ Home’s range of early childhood services are accessible to mainstream and special needs children and their families. Their programs teach all children empathy and how to interact with people from all walks of life and focus on inclusivity rather than exclusivity, similarities rather than differences. All of their programs promote confidence, encourage diversity, promote education, community health and wellbeing and help children develop the skills they need to become active and engaged citizens of the future community.
