VAMFF 2019 wrap up: the best of fashion and beauty
The champagne has clinked for the final time, the goodie bags have made it to their new homes and sore feet all over the city are climbing out of towering high heels and into hot bubble baths. The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) has wrapped for another year!
As always, it was a whirlwind of parties, camera flashes, double kisses, hot lights and most importantly — fashion. From the runways inside to the street style outside, there were countless looks to be inspired by for autumn winter (and beyond).
The Plaza — VAMFF’s party precinct — was busy with people taking part in pre- and post-show festivities, including bites to eat, drink pop-ups and live entertainment. And if you weren’t there, you were probably in the city attending the Australian Fashion Summit or the International Women’s Day Breakfast. Phew!
Couldn’t make it to fashion week this time around? Don’t worry, we’ve rounded up all the best highlights for you, so it’s pretty much like you were there anyway.
The jewel in the VAMFF crown is quite clearly the evening runways, when the stars come out to play, and we can a glimpse into what we’ll be wearing for the season ahead. One of our favourite shows was Gala Runway 2, presented by David Jones and supported by Vogue Australia. How could you go wrong?!

The street style
It’s no secret the real action happens outside the venue’s doors, with thousands of bloggers, style icons and fashion editors descending on the Royal Exhibition Building to set trends and be snapped by the country’s best fashion photographers. We love checking out street style to help decide what we’ll be inviting into our wardrobes.

Beauty lovers will argue the hair and makeup is just as — if not more! — important than the fashion. Backstage, artists were prepping models with all sorts of new beauty trends. Some of which we’ll be introducing into our daily routine. Others might need a bit more courage first.
