Local Community

Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.

Westfield Warrawong encourages you to support their local community partner Peterborough Special School.

Peterborough Special School

Get Inspired
Peterborough caters for children aged 4 - 18 years old with intellectual, physical and multiple disabilities including autism, behaviour disorders and mental health related problems. Children come from areas as far north as Dapto and Unanderra and south to Gerringong. The school provides individual education programs for each student. Innovative programs include music therapy, hydrotherapy, work experience, integration, performing arts (drumming, dance and a school signing choir). More information can be found on their website: www.peterborough.nsw.edu.au
