Retail Delivery Explained

With over 250 tenants, ranging from in-line units to kiosks and food outlets to restaurants, the coordination of the design and construction of your store is paramount.

Reduce your stress levels by starting early and taking advantage of your dedicated Westfield Retail Delivery Team. You will already have been assigned a Westfield Retail Design Manager (RDM), Leasing Tenancy Coordinator (LTC) and a Retail Project Manager (RPM) [Construction Tenancy Coordinator]. So make your workload easier by utilising their expertise. They will guide you through every stage of the process from concept design to council approval and from site works to getting ready to open for business.

The Process - What happens next?

Fitting out so many stores at once is bound to put tremendous pressure on supply chains and specialised resources, so don't risk your work-flow grinding to a halt. Plan ahead and let us assist you with an explanation of the process.

Design Stages

Briefing Meeting
Your dedicated Retail Design Manager (RDM) will share our vision for Westfield Sydney with you and your design team explain our design guidelines and outline the process ahead.

Appointing a Designer
As one of the most important decisions you will make in creating an amazing store, take advantage of our knowledge of the design industry to find the right designer for your specific needs.

Concept Design
Following the initial briefing meeting, your designers should submit concept designs for review. These must include visuals of the shopfront and interiors, schematic plans, materials board and specifications.

Detailed Design and Council Approval
On approval of the concept design, your detailed design submission should include final architectural plans, elevations, sections and detail, structural and services drawings, finishes specifications and signage details. Delivery Stages

Shopfitter Appointment
Take advantage of our knowledge of the shopfitting industry to find the right shopfitter for your specific needs.

Pre-Start Meeting
Your detailed design concept and council DA has been approved and you're ready to go. Now you'll work with your Westfield Construction Tenancy Coordinator, who will help you bring your plans to reality. A pre-start meeting will be arranged where your shopfitter will review the on-site delivery process with the Retail Delivery Team. All aspects of delivery will be covered, including provisions for the stocking of your store before opening.

On Site Management
Our Retail Delivery Team will work closely with your shopfitters to provide coordination and advice on the interface between your store and our building services. In addition, our Retail Design Managers will review the progress of your fit out on site and assist with design vs. build issues.

Opening Day
The Westfield Retail Delivery Team are completely focused upon getting you there and looking great for opening day. They will assist with the logistics of the finalisation of your fitout, access to site for you and your staff and the delivery of stock to your store. This is the day we have all been waiting for and we want our customers to have a truly spectacular shopping experience on opening day. (link to Centre Management Contact)
