Local Community

Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.

The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.

Westfield Strathpine encourages you to support its local community partner The Cerebral Palsy League.

This partnership was launched only in November 2009, so stay tuned for more information on The Cerebral Palsy League, community events, and ways you can get involved.

Cerebral Palsy League (CPL)

For over 60 years, CPL has provided vital support and services to bring hope, joy and opportunity to the lives of Queenslanders with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities. For more than 3100 clients spread across the state, we provide regular support throughout their lives to not only meet their specific complex needs, but assist them to participate and make a real difference in their community. An additional 4000 people access our services on an ad-hoc basis.

The vital support services we provide include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, technology and equipment, transport, accommodation, career support, support in-home and community access.

CPL gives particular emphasis to early intervention with children and families, as this targeted support maximises independence and the life opportunities of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
