Local Community
Caring for a child can be tough and very challenging. While every child is a joy to their parents, families of children with a disability find simple everyday living more difficult. Financial assistance, respite care - time out and community support can make a world of difference.
The Westfield Community Program was launched in early 2008 to address these needs in our local communities. Each Westfield Centre across Australia partners with a local disability service provider to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.
Westfield Liverpool encourages you to support its local community partner Down Syndrome Association.

Get inspired
Down Syndrome NSW along with others have helped bring about a dramatic shift in the way children with Down Syndrome are treated, educated and able to participate more fully in contemporary society.
Down Syndrome occurs in about 1 in 900 births across all communities and all cultures. People with Down syndrome do have features in common, but their looks and personality also closely resemble their parents. Down syndrome is only part of who they are. Each person is unique with their own talents and needs.
Down Syndrome NSW provides professional services, resources, information, advocacy, guidance, education and opportunities for people with Down syndrome, parents, carers and families. Their vision is that that all children with Down syndrome grow to achieve their full potential, leading confident, productive, rewarding lives as individuals, family members and citizens.
