I knew I wanted to be a stylist when...

I was in my late twenties and realised through my friends that I did have a love of fashion/putting outfits and looks together for myself and anyone who asked (even those who didn't!). The more I learned about Fashion, Style and Image through my Image Consultancy Certification and interactions with my clients, the more I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

What inspires your sense of style?

Things I see and experience every day:
colours, climate, location and emotion.  I also love to thumb through magazines every week as they hit the newsstand and spend the first hour of every day reviewing all the online fashion news and runways.

What garment could you never part with?

A well fitting jacket. Jackets are my favourite thing and I love them to give me shape and create great versatility in my wardrobe.  I have a vintage Halston Nautical inspired blazer which I always get excited to wear.

What are the key trends for this spring/summer?

Spring/summer is amazing this season with some new and exciting trends.  White is the key colour; the new lengths are the midi skirt and pant circa 1940s and an extension of the ladylike trends; hyper Colour really sees strong colour separates and jewel tone dresses head to toe and all mixed together and put back with black for the ultimate versatility; Lace continues as a key feature in pieces you wouldn't expect including trousers, and as a key feature in accessories; Prints of any description are key, the bolder the better - animal, fruit and flower.  Underlying all of these is the seventies inspiration with wide-legged trousers, volume filled blouses and maxi dresses.

What are the key items which will be your best friend over the coming months?

Wideleg trousers, platform wedges, a bright tote, a colour-blocked maxi dress, a classic white shirt and a selection of Ts and tops in bright colours and bold prints topped off with some oversized cats-eye sunglasses and layered with a man style blazer, perhaps in white.

The warmer months means swimsuits. How can you tell which style is best for your body shape?

The principle for swimsuit shopping is the same as any other garment in your wardrobe.  It should enhance your best bits and hide the worst whilst balancing out your proportions.  Choose a colour that compliments your skin tone and a style that gives you a good shape, showing your best features and flattering those that aren't.

Are there particular colours, which suit different skin tones?

People with golden skin tones will look great in citrus colour and bright prints, those with pink tones should choose the blues, purples and pinks in all over colours, stripes, spots or watercolour prints.

How can you dress for the hotter months without wearing anything too revealing?

Being cool in summer does not mean wearing next to nothing.  Fabric choice is really important in the warmer months.  Natural fibres like cotton and silk are lightweight, skim the body, breathe well and look fabulous.  It isn't necessary to be revealing to be comfortable.  Loose styles, which allow airflow and movement, will be much cooler and more comfortable than tight styles.

In what ways will a Westfield stylist help prepare you for spring/summer?

Summer is the time when people get nervous, as there is more skin on show so knowing how to flatter your shape with colour in style is essential.  A Personal Style Session will teach you about your shape and show you how to create the perfect wardrobe for your age, shape, lifestyle and budget, where to spend and where to save and how to make you look the best that you can.

My motto when it comes to fashion is....

Learn it, love it and live it.  Everyone can look amazing when they know what colours and styles suit them!
