Back in the good old days of 2007, I worked as a checkout chick at Target and was lucky enough to be rostered on the day Stella McCartney for Target hit the shelves. Other than the threat of being stampeded by rampant fashionistas, I came out unscathed and look back fondly on the time when I was able to afford a little slice of designer heaven on minimum wage. Josh Goot, Zac Posen and Dita Von Teese soon followed and so was born the elite ‘Designers for Target’ club. And now, Target have officially released the next cab off the rank – Aussie celeb, singer, mum and The X-Factor judge, Dannii Minogue!
Being a pocket rocket herself, Dannii’s range is focused on petites, catering for women that are predominantly 5’5″ and under, and who find the arms and legs are always too long, the shoulders too wide and the general overall fit JUST. NOT. RIGHT. The collection ranges from sizes 4-16 and in it you’ll find on-trend styles that would normally pose an issue for petites – think bohemian maxi dresses, structured blazers, midi dresses, cropped pants and jeans in varying lengths and shades.
I very nicely asked the lovely team at Target if you and I could see the range before everyone else when it hits stores on August 7, so here are a couple of my favourite pieces and how I wear them.
Dannii Minogue Petites for Target Tuxedo Blazer $89
Dannii Minogue Petites for Target Pleated Short $49
Target Wide-Brim Hat $25
Sportsgirl 90’s PU Halter $49.95
Sportscraft Helen Loafer $66.75
