The Shimmer Collection by Oscar Cullinan

Oscar Cullinan owner & director of Oscar Oscar Salons is renowned for creating glamorous, high-fashion yet wearable photographic collections. Oscar has previously been crowned the Australian Hairdresser of the Year in 2001 and 2005 for his collections "Monochromatic" and "Glacier Bay".

This year Oscar Cullinan joined renowned photographer, Andrew O'Toole to produce a stunning new collection "Shimmer" which featured a strong 70s fashion reference and editorial styling.

"I believe Shimmer is a culmination of the latest runway looks, editorial styling and hair fashion direction. This shoot was heavily influenced by designers and fashion houses such as Tom Ford, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, which all showcased a distinct 70s styling in their recent collections. I also referred to the style icons of the 70s such as Jerry Hall, Bianca Jagger and Deborah Harry for muse inspiration.

I have taken inspiration from these designers, icons and runways shows and interpreted the styling to suit the Australian consumer. I believe I have captured the glamour and high-fashion of the 70s but have also developed a modern interpretation, by creating looks that are fashion forward, wearable and of course reflecting the Oscar Oscar style of hairdressing.

We are also seeing a strong direction in hair colour this season, so colour played an important role in this shoot, with striking reds, platinum blondes, rich brunettes and also a vibrant pop of lavender!" - Oscar Cullinan.

Oscar Cullinan has been creating glamorous hair for over twenty years and has also recently opened his tenth salon at the fashion-branded hotel, the Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast.
