Are you rocking the rainbow brights of the coming season?
Pop colours are a huge summer trend the world over and we fashion-hungry southern hemispherites have dragged bursts of vivid colour from our winter wardrobes right through to the new summer season!
Reminiscent of an Andy Warhol painting, colour blocking is a simple, yet effective trend that plays bold pieces against each other for a loud, proud and dynamic look.
Coloured denim is an easy and on-trend way of bringing pop colour palettes into your winter wardrobe. With Hollywood sweethearts like Sarah Jessica Parker, Blake Lively and Khloe Kardashian leading the bright denim trend and big name brands like J Brand denim following suit, you can't go wrong with this new twist on the staple pair of jeans with a pair of skinny brights in either full length or the new three-quarter crops for the warmer months.
Try body con dresses in splashes of siren red, sulphur yellow and aqua marine and pair with opaques, over-sized blazers in light-weight fabrics or sleeveless vests. Add a splash of bright lip to match or contrast and a statement clutch or shoe for the full colour pop effect.
Clean lines, no patterns, vivid denim, bold shoes and accessories conjure up images of fairy floss or ice-cream - eye-popping colour palettes against a backdrop of black and white staples. Have fun with this trend, don't be too serious and throw those old conventional colour combinations out the window with the confidence to pair fuchsia pink and burnt orange or cobalt blue and lime green.
There are no rules except having the confidence to pop, pop, colour block!
