He calls it 'casual couture', but while the new Autumn/Winter 2011 collection from Joe Farage may sound effortless, a combination of timeless craftsmanship and impeccable tailoring underlies his sophisticated, yet wearable new line.
We spoke to Joe about his new collection, his design inspiration and what makes this talented designer tick.
Can you tell us a bit about the direction for the men's collection for AW11?
A combination of timeless craftsmanship and impeccable tailoring. Autumn Winter 2011 exudes a modern masculinity. Traditional weaves of tweed, birds eye and Prince of Wales check are cast against a backdrop of relaxed refinement in worn hues of grey and steel.
And the direction for the women's collection for AW11?
Accomplishing the perfect balance between minimalism and sophistication, the collection introduces tailored silhouettes accentuating luxurious weaves, soft ruffles and statement pieces
What are your key design influences?
I am mainly influenced by music, design, architecture and travel.
What is your perfect holiday destination?
Paris! It's the most beautiful city in the world and continues to inspire me every time I visit...
