This iconic partnership between the heritage of CUE and the contemporary design of DION LEE brings two different brands with parallel ideals together to create a new perspective on quality, functionality and design integrity.
Striking a balance of modern yet classic style the Dion Lee collection for Cue will hit stores in March, with additional drops throughout April and May and will be available at Westfield Sydney, Bondi Junction, Doncaster, Chermside and Garden City centres nationally.
Working with fine woven wools, crisp cotton, leather and jersey from Italy to Japan, the range is built around the quest for the perfect shirt, a well cut jacket, and a trans-seasonal coat. Classic pieces that define the contemporary wardrobe with each piece doubling as a collector's item. And, in typical Dion Lee style, this collection is beautiful in its constructed simplicity which celebrates the design philosophy behind both brands.
CUE:DION LEE takes Lee's skill at experimenting with fabric, shape and cut, and translates it into a more everyday format. The collection possesses a simple, casual feel whilst still retaining Lee's signatures of structured yet fluid tailoring and functional detailing.
It was Lee who approached Cue with the idea to collaborate and create a limited edition line:
"It made sense, it felt right. There is no reason why affordable fashion can't have design merit. I think, of all the retailers in this market, Cue really understands that, so for me it was interesting to work with design in a different way, to consider clothes that you wear every day."
What does Cue think of the partnership?
"We have been approached by other designers interested in the opportunity of working on a collaboration in the past but it never felt right. There was an immediate sense of excitement about the opportunity of working with someone as talented and as committed to design as Dion is. Dion has a wonderful approach to design, he has a lot of respect for women and that shows in his work. This project continues Cue's commitment to making aspirational design accessible."
