HALCYON DAYS SPRING/SUMMER 2011/12
Celebrating 20 years in business; Zimmermann launched Rosemount Australian Fashion Week with their spring summer 2011/12 collection Halycon Days in the expansive and light-filled space of The Classic Throttle Shop in Sydney.
The atmosphere was exuberant as Zimmermann presented a fresh, radiant and optimistic collection that stirred memories of idyllic summers. Designer Nicky Zimmermann expertly balanced sharp, modern technique with a touch of nostalgia and the result was the pure embodiment of holiday serenity where everything seems to glow. Halcyon Days hails from Greek mythology and embodies calm and tranquility, happiness and a carefree spirit - a concept that was represented beautifully in Zimmermann's new range.
Built on a tranquil progression of white and natural tones, Zimmermann's collection sees earthy textures worked into structured panels of intricate detail. Vivid bursts of colour and inimitable prints punctuate this base of calm with long, sleek lines playing on every movement as the models sashayed down the runway.
Sexy yet refined, the silhouettes are such an inspired combination of distinctive design and reminiscent influence that Zimmermann continues to reinvigorated the contemporary notion of daywear.
At the parade, guests were refreshed with espresso coffee and coconut water on arrival and Tommy Ton from Jakf & Jil, Susie Lau from Style Bubble, Phil Oh from Street Peeper, Candice Lake from Vogue.co.uk and Nadia Nawaz from Refinery 29 sat front row to take in the impressive show.
Models Ruby Jean Wilson, Julia Nobis and Myf Shepard appeared to shine from within with dewy, radiant skin and soft metallic eyes by Linda Jefferyes, while Sophie Roberts created textural hair that was loosely pulled back and knotted low.
Zimmermann worked collaboratively with cult jewellery label ManiaMania to create the ear cuffs and caged arm bands that adorned the models in tarnished silver and bronze and accessories were sublime caramel leather.
Zimmermann's Halycon Days follows a successful start to the year for the brand that is opening its first permanent US store on iconic Robertson Drive in LA this week.
