When the festive season hits, so do the after-work parties. Dressing for both day and evening can be daunting and you don't want to carry a bag full of clothes to the office. Here are a few hints and tips to help you go from work to glamming it up for a Christmas party.
The day of the party why not opt for a basis sheath dress with usual work blazer and classic heel to wear to work. Checkout Jacqui E or Shieke. For the party - change all your jewellery (earrings, necklace & bangles) into either silver or coloured crystals. The key here is the colour combination. If you dress is navy - red crystals or silver look great. If you are in a neutral/bone coloured dress, add depth with cobalt blue or peacock green. If you suit is black, anything will go. Layer up your necklaces to add volume and interest around your plain neckline. Try Diva, Lovisa or Equip for great accessories. Leave your work jacket behind and have a small wrap in your bag if the night gets cooler. Finally, change your shoes into something sassy and strappy with bling! Wanted have great shoes as do Diana Ferrari.
If you prefer to wear a two piece suit, Saba has very well cut suits this season. Stylish single breasted jacket in dove grey with matching pant or skirt. This suit could work well to dress up at night with a sparkly camisole from Country Road or Supre. Again, team this look with sparkly heels from Zu or Aldo. Diana Ferrari also has wonderful strappy heels with matching clutches.
Hemlines on cocktail dresses are rising however I would avoid anything to revealing. It's a work function after all and if you wanted to be considered for a promotion, you still need to dress professionally. Also remember to keep yourself nice and don't over- drink. You still want to keep your job the following day!
