I'm all about 'the dress' for Christmas. It gives a sense the event a sense of occasion that is also feminine and elegance. If you have purchased a special cocktail work Christmas dress, this can double as your family dinner dress as it will be worn for a different audience. Focus on the cut for your body shape. If you are busty, wear a round wide neckline or a deep V-neck to show off those gorgeous collar bones. If your waist is an area of concern, either wear a dress that falls from under the bust line and skims over your waist or wear a dress that has some gathering around your mid-drift to disguise any lumps and bumps. If you are slim through the hips, keep your eye out for a slim fit sheath dress and if you are bigger in the hips, wear a feminine A-line dress.
Christmas lunch outfit:
Another great option is to wear a white cotton dress in the right shape for your body and add colour - lots of it - with accessories. Think strappy white dress that comes in to the waist with a subtle A-line cut to the knee and bright coloured necklace, brackets and/or earrings. Portmans and Country Road are staple for lovely cotton white dresses. Tree of Life and DIVA have wonderful colourful jewellery that is affordable and looks great for day dressing.
Christmas worship outfit:
Your choice of outfit will be more suitable if you throw on a light weight jacket to cover your shoulders and upper arms. Leave those flashing Christmas badges and earrings at home. They are wonderful for when children are at home. Jacqui E and Diana Ferrari always good options for a colourful, well cut style of dress for all shapes.
Must have festive accessories:
Find some silver slides (thongs) which are perfect to wear with a colourful dress whether it is a maxi style dress (long) or a beach style dress (short). Silver looks festive and crisp when black accessories look too heavy.
A large silver tote:
This handy bag not only looks great with your new slides, it also is very handy for all those pressies if you need to travel to other friends and family homes.
