Party themes for Christmas

I love a dress up party, an excuse to get out of the civvies and throw something a bit crazy on. Think about having a theme for your Christmas party and think of going just slightly beyond the theme of Christmas.

One of the things I like to do is some research into Christmas around the world and see what other cultures are doing at this time of the year, how they celebrate, what they wear, what their important dates are and their gift giving rituals.  The easiest way to do this is to pick your favorite culture or a country of interest and Google them and Christmas. Maybe make the country relevant to your business or your own family or friends. It is also a great way for your kids to learn about another culture, although you can get hot wearing a Norwegian 'FUR' skin coat when it's 35 degrees in Brisbane!

The other option is to look across religious boundaries and see what other religions are doing to celebrate at this time of the year. We are such a multicultural community now that there will always be someone at work or living nearby who is not the old fashioned Anglo Saxon Christian so make an effort to incorporate their beliefs into your party.
