Easily the most adventurous of the AW trends is Print Clash. Encouraging you to wear every single print imaginable from jungle, ladylike and Aztec inspired print - all at once. It's brash, bold and defies everything your mother taught you about matching your brown shoes with your brown belt. It's also the most modern trend, as it doesn't return on the fashion cycle nearly as often as the other styles.
It can be the trickiest to pull off. But that doesn't mean it's impossible!
Follow these rules to conquer the print clash trend:
- Same size prints and like colour palettes are friends. For example, a small stripe print looks best with a small floral print, in similar autumn tones or neon brights.
- Start with TWO prints first and work your way up. You'll find that this is often enough!
- If your outfit is looking at little OTT, add a neutral-coloured blazer to tone it down and give it more structure.
- Adopt the 10-minute rule: wear it around the house for 10 minutes and if you still feel comfortable you won't want to run home and change in your lunch break!
- Accessories don't have to be printed - phew! In fact, stick to block colours for those.
